The English School Old Boys & Girls Association (ESOBGA) is the graduate association of The English School, Nicosia, one of Cyprus’s most established educational institutions. Since 1928, ESOBGA has connected generations of graduates, preserving friendships, honouring shared memories and supporting the legacy and traditions of the School. The Association brings together alumni through cultural lectures, Founder’s Day ceremonies, sporting and social events, reunions and community gatherings, acting as a living link between the School’s past, present and future.
ESOBGA’s story stretches back to 1928, and the new website needed to carry that sense of legacy without feeling dated. We built the site around a clean, editorial layout that gives space to the Association’s history, committee and governance structure, so visitors can quickly understand who ESOBGA is and what it stands for.
Every page was designed to feel like a natural extension of the School community it represents, using imagery of the clubhouse, alumni gatherings and the wider English School environment. The result is a site that feels warm and familiar to long-standing members while remaining approachable for graduates discovering ESOBGA for the first time.
At the heart of ESOBGA’s activity is its calendar of reunions, cultural lectures, sporting fixtures and social evenings. We built a flexible Events section that separates upcoming and past events, complete with venue details, dates and RSVP links, so members always know what’s happening next and can look back on what has passed.
Alongside this, a News and Insights section gives ESOBGA a straightforward way to publish updates, from anniversary celebrations to memorabilia launches. Both sections were built to be easily managed by the Association’s team, meaning content stays fresh without relying on ongoing developer support.
For many alumni, ESOBGA is their main connection back to The English School, so removing friction from the membership process was a priority. We designed a clear, guided application form that lets graduates join ESOBGA directly through the website, replacing what had previously been a more manual process.
Prominent calls to action across the homepage and navigation direct visitors toward joining, attending events or getting in touch, ensuring the site actively encourages participation rather than simply presenting information. The Contact Us page also brings together the Association’s address, phone number and social channels in one accessible place.
The new website truly reflects who we are as an Association. It brings our history, our events and our community together in one place, and makes it so much easier for graduates to reconnect with the School and with each other. Our members, old and new, finally have a digital home that feels like ours.
